Superb and rare late-war German M1938 paratrooper « Fallschirmjäger » combat helmet with period applied bailing wire. This helmet was found 25 years ago in the Ardennes, Belgium. The helmet is a « ckl71 » with a lot number « 42?? », it retains over 85% of the green factory paint. Aluminum slotted bolts complete, intact and secure. Exterior shows real combat use with several areas of scuffs. Period applied bailing wire is nicely hand applied and secured in two locations on the interior. Interior is untouched and in the same general condition as the exterior. The liner is in overall very good shape and still in supple condition. It is properly stamped with the « RBNr » and the sizes « 59 / 71 ». The rank and soldier’s name are written on the liner « Uff. Borchert ». The mid-war straps are complete and in overall very good condition. A unique paratrooper combat wire helmet.
