This Crown Order 2nd Class with swords is made from gilded silver and enamel. It shows the makers mark “JGuS” as well as the official silver content mark “938” on the rim of the lower cross arm. Godet was one of the high quality producers and supplied to the orders chancellery during World War !. The swords are typical Godet designs and fit the cross perfectly. Rich gilding still present. Comes with the original and earlier style case of issue with hook as well as neck ribbon.

Based on the consigner this particular cross came from the estate of the Pour le Merite (December 5, 1917) winner General Arnold Lequis. There are various articles on the internet for further research on him.
