This grand cross is made from gilded silver and enamel. The ring is marked “900” for its silver content as well as “L/50” for the maker Godet in Berlin. Some minimal and superficial chips, yet in impressive condition. The ring loop seem to have the roman numeral “II” stamped to potentially indicate it being paired with a particular grand cross star during the manufacturing process.

The “L/50” mark indicates that this cross was available for purchase during the War in one of the authorized order and decoration shops, like Godet in Berlin. Despite the fact that the grand cross with swords is one of the most rare crosses from this order, it is more rare with the “L/50” marking.
