An excellent Luftwaffe officer's sword with genuine Damascus blade. Personally issued by Hermann Göring to a member of the Luftwaffe who was involved in the development of the Luftwaffe. 

Rare genuine Damascus blade bearing the gilded inscription "Meinem Mitarbeiter am Aufbau der Luftwaffe" and "Der Reichsluftfahrtminister Hermann Göring (facsimile signature)". Made by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. Gilt maker's mark. Light staining on both sides.

Blue leather finished handle and scabbard with silvered aluminum fittings. Intact wire wrapping. The pommel and the crossguard bear a gilded sun-wheel swastika on each side. No dents on the scabbard and all screws are in place. Comes with the original leather hanger. Maker marked and "LBA" marked on the back. Fully functional snap clip.
