Important photo album of a German "Kaiserliche Marine" soldier serving in Tsingtau, China around 1902.

An impressive lacquered cover with inserted bordering from mother-of-pearl. Hand-carved picture of an eagle hunting a bird. The eagle is again made from mother-of-pearl. The bird, flowers and the branch is carved from bone. Some damage to the leather finished spine and the cover itself. Signs of use and age, however, all pages complete and no photo missing.
