A superb and unique M1942 German late-war netted combat helmet. It is a late-war « hkp66 » with a lot number of « 3568 ». The helmet's exterior features a period application of heavy rope cord and several metal wire attachments. The exterior surface shows light oxidation and prolonged storage with exposure to the elements. Overall it gives the helmet a very nice late-war true combat look. The detailed photos below clearly show that the net has been on the helmet since the war's end. The helmet's interior matches the condition of the exterior. Overall in excellent complete and untouched state. Leather liner shows some minor flaking around the rim. Ink stamped for size along the tongue « 59 ». Original drawstring is present. Retains its full length maker marked and dated chinstrap. A choice netted combat helmet.
