Beschreibung

Outstanding 99th Infantry Division grouping belonging to Lieutenant Richard George Fuchs, this grouping was purchased directly from his son in 2015. This grouping included his unit marked helmet set, Class A service jacket and pants, Ike jacket and pinks, officers hat, boxed medals (ETO, American Defense, American Campaign, Victory, and German Occupation Medals and a Croix de Guerre Fourragere), photos, booklets and personal effects. All additional informations can be find on the pictures below.

A beautiful and very rare USM1 helmet, 1st Lieutenant of the 99th Infantry Division named to « Lt. Richard G. Fuchs ». The helmet remains in untouched and as-found condition. The combat helmet features on the front a period hand painted emblem of the 99th Infantry Division « Checkerboard » and a Lt. rank, a vertical white bar is painted on the rear. The shell retain its original factory web straps with partial brass hardware intact, the long part with the buckle is partially missing. In the detailed photo below you can see that the helmet has never been cleaned and shows all the nice signs of what a true combat helmet should look like. Some wear along the rim and minor paint loss is naturally present. Interior of the shell is marked to the former owner laundry number  « O-1171150 ». Comes with its original matching complete liner. The liner features again matching and well executed period hand painted emblem of the 2nd Infantry Division along the front, which has been painted twice, a painted 1st Lieutenants bar and the ETO officer bar on the rear. Interior remains all complete. Showing nice signs of period wear, some dust and oxidation naturally present. A perfect set. A choice and highly desirable US combat helmet to one of the most famous Infantry Divisions of the Battle of the Bulge. Selected Offering.
