Large Egyptian turquoise ring.

Sizing and material:

Three hallmarks at the inner ring rail (please see photo for comparison, from left to right):

1. Mark for 750/18K gold (Cairo or Beni Souef)

2. Mark "Seagull" is also an old gold marking

3. This mark is an Arabic letter. They were used to indicate the year of production. Egyptian Goldsmiths started to use Arabic letters in 1940.

Before that, they used Latin letters as hallmarks.

There is another identical mark for 750 gold on the shoulder of the ring as well as on the side of the head. Although that hallmark was slightly misplaced and is not complete.

Large oval turquoise approx. 1,5 cm x 2,9 cm x 1,0 cm

6,6 g total weight.
