Heer visor cap first pattern (crusher cap)

Description

Extremely rare 1st pattern "old style" visor cap for a general constructed with a leather visor. Collector's call this type of cap a "crusher cap". The gold bullion piping shows a very dark, almost grey patina. If you turn the piping around, you can clearly see it is actually golden!

Piping: "gold" color bullion piping for a General's rank.
Insignia: Machine-woven officer's cap eagle and wreath badge. The correct type of insignia for this cap. Period time attached by machine (wreath) and hand (eagle).
Early General's caps were issued with silvered insignia. An early crusher cap like this would also been worn with silver officer's insignia.

Sweat-band: Signs of wear and age. Some damage. Partially fixed with tape.
Lining: Fine silk lining with removed celluloid diamond. Signs of wear. Some stains.
Visor: Leather. Still flexible.

A well worn cap with character. Clearly sun bleeched. Only three small holes to the green cap band. No other moth holes.
