Heer M42 field tunic. Typically designed without vertical pocket bars but pocket flaps still constructed like the earlier M36, M40 and M41 tunics. As an M41 pattern, the M42 also comes with six buttons.

This tunic was period time modified by a tailor due to the personal taste of the owner. Soldiers preferred the more elegant M36 style featuring a dark green collar, dark green insignia. All modifications were executed period time and definitely prior 1945.
Modifications like these are quite common and give this tunic a unique touch.

Breast eagle: machine-embroidered. EM/NCO pattern. Attached by hand.
Collar tabs: EM/NCO. Machine-woven. Attached by machine. A non-textbook cloth backing
Shoulder boards: Privately tailored. Sewn to the tunic. Feldwebel. Infanterie. White piping
Sleeve badge: 

Buttons: All buttons complete but reattached
Lining: fine silk. Size markings. B.II.42 depot marked. Large pieces replaced. Smaller repairs.
