Description

This medal bar consists of the Prussian Iron Cross second class, 1914, with Iron Core and silver frame, the Mecklenburg-Schwerin War Merit Cross 2nd Class, Oldenburg Friedrich-August Cross 2nd Class (blackened Iron), Lippe-Detmold, War Merit Cross 2nd Class, a Hanseatic Cross from the Free City of Hamburg, silvered and enamel, the Bulgarian Military Order 5th class with war decoration, silvered and enamel and the St.Alexander Order 5th class with swords. The bar is terminated on the revers with blueish grey felt and full needle system.

Nice and tight sewn medal bar.

This medal bar is almost 100% attributable to Erich Julius Friedrich Otto von FERBER, who was born on September 12, 1878, in Schloß Priborn. He was last in active duty in 1912 as Oberleutnant with the Ulanenregiment 2, was honorably discharged and joined the National Guards (Landwehr).

He was then privateer in Berlin.

Afterwards during WWI reactivated and part of the staff of the Reserve Corps East as Leader of the “Baggage” of the 1st Landwehr-Division. He was promoted to Rittmeister in 1915 and transferred to the Reserve Officers of the Dragonerregiments 17, lastly recorded as Major “der Reserve außer Dienst”.

He was a St. John Honorable Knight as well.
