A helmet of historical importance: M38 German WWII period time paratrooper helmet worn by Gefreiter Wilfried Diehl during the Africa Campaign in Tunesia from 1942 until 1943. This helmet ships with a 10.1.2002 dated photograph of Diehl holding his helmet in his hands. He signed the photo to the reverse confirming that this is his personal helmet which had seen combat in Tunesia and he had six jumps with.

Another photo shows a group of Fallschirmjäger including Diehl. It was taken on 14.1.1943 in Tunesia (more details are written on the photo). Diehl wears this exact helmet. He signed to the back of the photo and confirmed that his helmet changed hands on 31.8.01 giving it to "Wolfgang Pitz".

M38 Fallschirmjäger helmet named to Wilfried Diehl twice. "Diehl" written with white color to the reverse of the shell (inside). "Diehl" written to the liner.
Soft leather liner without rips. "Schuberth" maker marked. "Stahlhelmgröße: 68" size stamped and "Baumuster: Heisler" marked.

Aluminum ring. All pads in place. 1st pattern leather chin strap in well worn condition. Slightly shortened and with its button removed. Full size to wear it however. 

ET68 size and maker marked shell. "5050" lot numbered.

60-70% of the orginal tropical tan camo paint is covering the outside of the shell. The color has turned brown of the decades. Bits of a Luftwaffe eagle decal visible.
