Very nice M1935 German half basket two-tone camouflage chicken wire combat helmet. This helmet was pick up after the war in the Fort of Battice in Belgium. The helmet has never been cleaned and remains in its original state as found. It is an « ET64 » with a lot number of « 5075 ». The helmet's exterior features a period brush hand applied camouflage coating of the standard tan paint. The brown color have been applied showing strikes all around the helmet and retaining over 50% of the finish. Two unidentified decals are on each side of the helmet. The chicken wire is applied on the half of the helmet and held in place by the rivets. Proper wear and interaction of the wire against the painted surface of the helmet along with other highly detailed photos can be seen below. The helmet's interior is untouched and uncleaned. Well lived in yet complete liner. Leather is used with some light fraying. Drawstring and chinstrap are all intact. Early aluminum liner band and correct for this vintage helmet. The back skirt is white painted with the soldier’s initials « W.S. » and a number « 132 ». A very attractive and desirable camouflage German combat helmet.
