This is a superb single decal M1938 Luftwaffe paratrooper « Fallschirmjäger » helmet, it is a « ET68 » with lot number « 4961 ». The helmet was found in the ’80s in Carentan area in Normandy, France. It is untouched, as found and never been cleaned. The exterior of the helmet still retains well over 95% of its original green factory paint, the second pattern ET type Luftwaffe decal rates at 98% or better. Zinc metal liner band, black inner dome pad, the leather is in excellent condition and still very supple. It is nicely ink stamped with sizes and maker’s details. The chinstraps are complete and in overall very good and supple condition. The soldier's initials « GW » are written in pencil on the back skirt.
