A very nice M1940 Luftwaffe two tone camouflage combat helmet. The helmet is a « ET64 » with a lot number « 505 ». The helmet's exterior features a tan hand applied paint finish with a nice second hand applied application of scattered green paint. The green looks to have been applied with a hard brush or cloth rag. Minor and typical scuffs, scrapes and abrasions present. The camouflage finish is semi matte and correct for this paint type covering well over 95% of the surface. Split pins all intact, secured and retain their camouflage finish. The Luftwaffe decal is present under the camouflage. The interior of the helmet remains in untouched and undisturbed condition. Complete liner is present. Leather is in very good condition and stamped for size « 56 ». Drawstring intact. Leather chin strap complete and in place. An untouched and visually striking example that was common on the Southern Front to include France and Italy. A choice camouflage combat helmet.
