Very nice and unique M1940 Luftwaffe single decal combat helmet that has been captured on the battle field and signed by all the members of the US unit. It is an « ET66 » with a lot number of « 709 ». The helmet's exterior features over 80% of its blue factory paint. Luftwaffe decal rates in over 80%. Minor scuffs and some light dirt on the exterior. Split pins intact, complete and tightly affixed. 35 soldier’s ranks and names are painted in white on the top of the helmet. The helmet's interior is complete and untouched. Liner is in excellent condition and supple, retaining its original drawstring and leather chinstrap, which is maker marked and dated. The name « Neville » is painted in the inside of the helmet, probably the name of the soldier who initiated this project. One-of-a-kind!
