Description

Nickel-plated steel blade featuring the etched motto "Meine Ehre heißt Treue". RZM "188/35" maker marked and "SS" marked on the reverse of the blade (unknown maker).

Black wooden handle with inlaid SS roundel and eagle. Early nickel crossguards. "I" stamped on the back of the lower fitting. Also numbered "249675" on the underside. Period time black re-painted steel scabbard with matching nickel fittings. Small dents on the lower fitting. All four screws are in place. The throat shows the same number "249675" as the crossguard.

Comes with the original black leather hanger. "olc" and RZM "M5/71" maker marked snap clip. Fully functional.

Signs of use.

In our opinion, this dagger was originally a so-called "Röhm" dagger. After the Röhm purge in 1934, the blade was changed and the scabbard was "refreshed". A very interesting dagger that matches all parts.
