A German M35 helmet. The earliest type of helmet issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by the Heer. One of the smallest sizes you can get: 53. This helmet comes with its early applegreen paint to the shell and was overpainted around 1940 with a fieldgrey paint. Another eagle decal was applied. The first eagle decal is probbaly underneath. The national shield decal is covered with paint as it looks. 

Paint: Original period time paint. Around 90% still present. Minor rust.

Decals: The eagle decal is about 90%. The national decal is covered

Lining: Flexible leather lining. Still soft. Original cord. "53" size stamped. Some damage and signs of age. 
The prongs were opened once. Probably when repainting the helmet period time. 

Chin strap: Soft leather. 1940 dated. Maker marked.

Markings: ET60. Ink dome stamped.
