Heer Stahlhelm M35

Beschreibung

Outstanding untouched M1935 Heer single decal two-tone thick textured camouflage combat helmet. The helmet is an « SE66 » with a lot number of « 823 ». The helmets exterior retains over 95% of its camouflage application. It consists of a darker grey camouflage coating with a thick sawdust mixture in a matte dusty look. Over it an application of dark green and mustard paint has been added. Slight wear to include scuffs and a few scarps are present. Split pins are intact and retain the vast majority of the same textured finish. The Heer decal has nicely been painted around, rates well over 95% and exhibits nice toning and crazing. The helmet's interior is complete and in its as-found state. The leather liner is in excellent condition, supple and retains a light brown color. It is ink stamped « 58 » for size along one of the tongue tips. Original drawstring is present. The original early untouched full length chinstrap is present as well, maker marked and dated « 1937 ». The soldier’s initials are present on the helmet skirt. The soldier placed a folded newspaper between the shell and the liner most likely to protect himself from the cold. A stunning untouched example of a sawdust textured German combat helmet with a very pleasing and attractive look.
