Heer ornamented service tunic for a General. A fantastic example to a highly decorated man which shows clear signs of wear and a lovely patina to all insignia. This tunic has survived as part of a theatre inventory after the war. There is a postwar theatre stamp to the sleeve lining. 

The tunic comes with overall period time attached insignia. This tunic would have been upgraded from an Oberst rank tunic but adding General's insignia and buttons during the period. 
All award loops and holes show clear signs of wear and are also definitely period time. Several awards were attached through custom made holes (reinforced) instead of loops which is really nice.

There was a German Cross attached through two holes. Below it another unknown award (i.e. Spanish Cross). The left side provides room for an Iron Cross 1st Class (attached through holes and loops) and three more awards. One of them was an award attached with a screw back as there is only one hole.

Above the left breast pocket are 6 loops for a long ribbon bar (9cm distance). Again, with clear signs of wear.

Hand-attached General's collar tabs. Lovely patina. A beautiful pair which is perfectly matching the patina of the eagle and the shoulder boards. The shoulder boards also show the same patina. The patina of the rank pips slightly differs. The eagle is a beautiful hand-embroidered example.

All buttons are attached with the same thread but no all are from the same maker.

The style of the tunic is rather early. Please note it is no "upgraded" parade tunic. The tunic was cut with two upper and two lower pockets. The red vertical piping near the button line stops at about the half which is absolutely correct.

Large parts of the lining were removed. This could have either been done by the theatre but there is a more likely reason: The tunic could have been worn in summer period time.

This tunic was worn by a General. It is definitely no example "upgraded" postwar by the theatre.
