Waffen-SS, M40-model (2nd pattern), reversible camouflaged-smock ('Tarnhemd') as executed in the so-called: 'Palm'-camo-pattern (ie. 'Palmenmuster') as constructed from smooth-type, linen-based material.
The piece has been period-altered (something that was more often encountered and favored by the troops). The lower-part of the smock is missing and it shows two (professionally) 'added' breast-pockets (having 'pleaded' pocket-tops). It also still shows both its (standard-pattern) pockets having their 'flaps' in place: these show, however, period-added 'snaps' (which are still functional).
It comes with its period (black-coloured- and thin-shaped) closing-cord and has all its elastic straps in place (which are still flexible and functional). The end-pieces on both arms have been partly 'cut-off' (something that was also more often done).
The piece has still bright and vivid (darker-green) colours and was never cleaned nor washed. The entire piece was clearly used and worn and does show the signs of having been worn (it does show a some tiny holes and shows one field-repair on one of its arms).
Still a great piece that is executed in the rarely seen 'Palmenmuster' camo-pattern !
