A very interesting and rare tropical tunic! M40 design as issued to troops of the Afrikakorps, however, manufactured later in war. There is a "H42" depot marking but also a "45/4" stamp which could refer to the date April 1945.
The tunic was manufactured by Peek & Cloppenburg (still existing today). It comes with an ink maker's mark as well as a matching paper maker's tag still attached.
Breast eagle: Machine-woven EM/NCO type. Factory attached by hand as it should be
Collar tabs: Machine-woven. Factory attached by machine.
Shoudlder boards: not attached since unissued. Loops and buttons in place.
Buttons: Complete. Full color. Attached with orginal rings.
Lining: cotton
