Tropical-issue, officers'-pattern Heer tunic ('Tropenfeldbluse für Offiziere') - being a piece of the first pattern having the 'pleaded' pockets - that belonged to a Gebirgsjäger Hauptmann. Perido time attached insignia. A great character tunic.
The tunic is constructed from typical, brownish-green-coloured tropical cloth any shows a clear maker- ie. size-designation stamped on its inside. The tunic was produced by a Wurzburg-based maker and shows stamps.
All buttons are present and in place. It was only moderately used and is void of any (real) damage nor staining. It does show two period-repaired holes.
The piece shows (matching) pairs of shoulderboards and collar-patches (which are piped in the green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour) and shows a hand-embroidered breast-eagle and - rarely seen mustard-brown-coloured- and tropical-styled! - 'Edelweiss'-patch, attached. (All insignia seem to have been period-attached).
The tunic will most certainly fit a medium-sized mannequin and has an approximate waist-size of: 84 cms. (is has been minimally period-tailored).
Simply an attractive Heeres, officers'-pattern, tropical tunic that comes as worn and found!
