M17 helmet which was re-issued around 1935 to be worn by a Wehrmacht Heer soldier. The shell over overpainted with the correct fieldgrey Wehrmacht paint. A single eagle decal was applied. It is still about 75%. It looks like it did not have a national shield decal.

The Wehrmacht lining is still soft and comes with its original cord. It is size "57" stamped. There are several names and notes to the lining as well as to the shell.

The prongs have not opened so the lining is original to the shell.

Maker marked chin strap which is still flexible.

Overall good condition. Rare to see an M17 re-issued to the Heer.
