A stunning Wehrmacht M35 helmet which looks to have been worn throughout WW2. It was issued an an M35 double decal helmet. You can see the original green color to the inside of the shell. It was then overpainted in the field with fieldgrey paint. You can clearly see the brush marks. This was common to do from after the Russian Campaign has started. The shell is entirely covered with this paint but you can see signs of wear and use which allowed the original factory paint coming through again. Mainly to the top.
The leather liner is still soft and 100% the orignal liner to this helmet. The prongs of the rivets are still absolutely flat and were never opened. The chin strap is also the original one to this helmet. It is maker marked and clearly 1938 dated.
A classic "been there" helmet which could certainly tell some story. Very hard to find these days!
