A German M42 helmet. The latest type of helmet issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Polizei and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by the Waffen-SS since it had one decal to the right side only.
Paint: Original factory paint. Around 90% still present. Minor rust and signs of wear and age.
Decals: A removed SS decal to the right side. There was a decal to the left side as well but it has a triangle shape and looks more like a decal added postwar from a collector of theatre. Also, to find a double decal M42 helmet is very unlikely.
Lining: Flexible leather lining. One rip. Still soft. Orginal cord. Unreadable size stamped.
Unopened prongs. The liner is original to the shell.
Chin strap: Soft leather. A little shrunk.
