Original Waffen-SS M42 helmet with original single decal. There is almost no original paint left to the shell. Blank steel visible. The decal has also suffered but survived. About 80% is in place.
Original "Rothmeier" named liner which was postwar added to this helmet. The rivets were also postwar added. Original and very nice chin strap (Rb-number stamped) also added postwar.
Rust pitting. Large lot number stamp (hard to read). No other stamps visible.
In out opinion, the helmet was found somewhere badly stored (maybe also in the ground) and was later professionally restored by a collector.
