A very rare Waffen-SS M42 helmet issued with two decals. According to our consignor, it was taken from the Gestapo headquarters at Odense, Denmark, in 1945. While there were no M42 helmets issued with two decals in general, the Gestapo would have most likely ordered some helmets with two decals for guards or other armoured personnel in uniform.

Excellent M42 helmet with original "rough" fieldgrey factory paint. Small bits are missing. The paint is about 90-95%. Both decals perfectly matching the condition. The swastika decal is also about 90%. The SS decal, however, looks to have been "denazified" by removing some large bits to hide its SS origin.

The lining is size "58" stamped and definitely originally attached to this helmet. The rivets holding the inner ring are still flag.
The chin strap is in very nice condition as well and comes with a 1942 dated maker's mark.
