Personal M35 double decal helmet of Generaloberst List

Beschreibung
Personal M35 double decal helmet to Generaloberst Wilhelm List (1880-1971). List was promoted to a Generalfeldmarschall in 1940 and commanded various "Heeresgruppen" and "Armeen" during World War II. He was awarded the Knight´s Cross for bravery during the Poland Campaign on 30. September 1939.

A very collectable M35 helmet which remained in very nice condition to a well known Generalfeldmarschall with its original chin strap and liner.

Fine "field-grey“ two decal example which was period time re-issued (after 1939). The original "apple-green" factory paint is still underneath. Both decals are still the first one applied to this helmet when it was issued. The grey color is over 95%. The eagle decal is also over 95%. The national shield is about 85%.

Q66 maker and size stamped as well as 413 lot numbered. Ink dome stamp (Abgenommen - Beschaffungsamt für Heer und Marine). The year is quite hard to read. 193?. Full "apple-green" color to the inside.

Soft leather liner with a zinc ring. Size 58 stamped. 100% period time attached to the helmet with its first original rivets. G.SCHIELE LOBURG 1936 marked chin strap in good condition. A nicely matching example.

Nicely "Generaloberst List" named to the inside of the shell.

This unique piece of history was purchased directly from the US veteran´s family by our consigner. When acquired, the exterior helmet was covered with a lacquer finish which has been carefully removed.

A scarce example in great condition which was never in collector´s hands before.Rare.
