A German M40 helmet with a single decal. The type of helmet was issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Polilzei and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by the Waffen-SS.
Paint: Original factory paint. Around 75% still present. Some rust
Decals: The SS eagle decal one the right side was entirely removed. However, you can still see a blank area clearly shaped like a decal
Lining: Flexible leather lining. Original cord. No markings visible. A round marking stamp is about 50% present. Some damage.
Unopened prongs. The liner is original to the shell!
Chin strap: still flexible but not too soft.
The lot number markings and the maker's mark are very hard to read. It looks to be a Quist helmet. Maybe Q64.
